MONGOLIA TO THE COTSWOLDS

Cotswolds based design studio, Purl English are bringing a little piece of Mongolia to the rolling hills around Burford.

Specialising in hand knitted pure cashmere clothing and accessories for babies and children. Purl English exclusively use this fabulously soft fibre from the Kashmir goat, Capra Hircus Langier. These goats live high on the dry plateaus that surround the Gobi desert, which stretch from Northern China to Mongolia.

With a long tradition of textiles in the Cotswolds and water that was renowned for softening the wool, Purl English are excited to be producing their collection here. Last month saw the launch of the new website showcasing the fresh contemporary design with an on-line store.

Here at Purl English – “We want to put a little luxury into the everyday. We are using traditional hand methods, with an eye on exceptional quality and injecting a bit of fun into the design, to create a look that has a very distinct signature. You won’t be able to find these products anywhere else. ”

It’s only a matter of time before you might see one of these elusive creatures nibbling a way at the grass alongside the Sheep that brought so much wealth to this part of our English countryside.
